BUCS stands for British Universities and Colleges Sport and they are the governing body of university sport in the UK. BUCS is responsible for organising more than 52 inter-university sports in the UK. 

In the BUCS League, UBWRFC is one of six teams - each opposition will be played twice (home and away). 

 

We are so proud to claim that UBWRFC is only one of two woman’s university rugby clubs who have three full teams competing in BUCS! All games take place on Wednesday afternoons, time and location varying. 

 

Throughout the year we also try and get involved in as many opportunities/events feasible, including:

• Championship 7s BUCS tournament in Leeds 

• Trophy 7s BUCS tournament in Leeds

• minimum of one team competing in an international 7s tournament in Lyon

• opportunities to play in weekend matches with local women’s team - Gordano Ladies

• compete in our intramural team, the rugby rhinos, in a variety of sports, such as: netball, rounders, waterpolo, football and more...
